WHO report on inequalities in childhood immunisation rewarded by the British Medical Association

The WHO publication “State of Inequality: Childhood Immunization” was awarded the first prize in the Digital and online resources category at the British Medical Association’s (BMA) Medical Book Awards 2017.

The report presents data on inequalities in immunisation coverage in low- and middle-income countries, and how these have changed over the last 10 years. It draws on data about five childhood immunization indicators, disaggregated by four dimensions of inequality, and covering 69 countries. The judges remarked that the report’s “excellent interactive visualizations” and “succinct, clear-written descriptions” make the data accessible and easily shared.
