Fatigue
The person suffers from fatigue. Why?
This is because in Sickle cell anemia the red blood cells membrane is fragile and easily got ruptured.Sickle cell anemia cause Breakdown of red blood cells.The red blood cells are not able for the delivery of normal Oxygen so body’s organs do not work properly.That is why Fatigue occurs.
Episodes of pain

The patient complain severe pain in chest , abdomen and joints. This is because in Sickle cell anemia the shape of red blood cells are Crescent shape so they may block the short blood vessels. Proper blood supply to the organs is retard.
This pain lasts for weeks or even months. In adults severe problems occurs

2 Severe joint pain
3 Joint damage
Delayed growth problems
As we know that Normal red blood cells provide Nutrients and Oxygen that is important for normal growth of the body.So abnormal red blood cells do not provide these things so cause Growth problems.
Vision problems
As abnormal red blood cells got stuck in the short vessels that supply blood to the eyes damages the retina. Hence the patient suffers from vision problems.
Swelling of hands and feet
This is again due to the sickle cells got stuck into the small vessels mainly capillaries that supplies to hands and feet. So swelling occurs.
