Lead pipe - uniform resistance present throughout the entire range of passive movement and is mostly seen in legs and trunk
Cogwheel - fluctuant resistance to passive movement due to presence of static tremor and is best seen in wrist joint

1 According to posture -
A ) static tremor - at rest eg - parkinson dse
B ) kinetic tremor - appears in precise movements and disappears at rest eg - anxiety , thyrotoxicosis , salbutamol , chronic alcoholism
C ) intention tremor - appears at goal point of activity , absent at rest and beginning eg - cerebellar disease
D ) flapping tremor - in encephalopathies
