FRCR In Clinical Oncologies

First FRCR doesn’t need you to complete your MD /DNB. You can write it during your PG, preferably after your first year as per RCR advice. Final FRCR requires you to complete your PG course.

sir, one of my cousin brother doing radiology 2 year in russia, he has registered mbbs with state medical council. i knew pg degree from non english speaking nation is not recognised in india .
is he eligible to take frcr exam ? if he passed frcr what next ?? can he practice radiology just with frcr in india? please clarify

He should be able to practice in India in the private sector as he’s already registered under the state medical Council. But, there’ll be restrictions if he wants to work in the government sector.

For queries regarding eligibility for FRCR in Radiology, please email the RCR official email given under the link I’ve provided above. They do reply fast to all queries.
Thanks a lot for your help bro, I’ll mail them and let know

As per RCR website, “Candidates who have passed the First FRCR examination are permitted to enter the Final FRCR (Part A) examination on completion of three years of supervised clinical oncology training covering the examination syllabus.”.

So yes, you’ll need to pass DNB to appear for Final FRCR.

Can diploma candidates take up the exam?
And any idea about the exam fees

You can write First FRCR now but to write Final FRCR, you’ll need 3 Years of training. So, you may have to join DNB or MD for it.

You can obtain fee details from RCR website.

PLAB is not required for writing FRCR.

At present, the FRCR is an acceptable alternative to the PLAB test for full registration, if registered with the GMC within three years of its award. FRCR does not automatically give entry to the specialist register.

You have to complete the “required training period”; you do NOT have to get your home-country qualification, or else, to be eligible for the Final FRCR CO Exam.
