POSTURAL DRAINAGE
is the gravitational clearance of secretions from specific bronchial segments by using one or more of different positions
PREREQUISITES
1 Patient is to be placed with the dependent lung segment as vertical as possible
2 Modification of position or posture if it is uncomfortable
DIFFERENT POSITIONS
A ) APICAL SEGMENT OF UPPER LOBE
Patient in semi fowler position with head of the bed raised 45 degrees
B ) ANTERIOR SEGMENT OF BOTH UPPER LOBES
Patient lying supine on flat bed
C ) POSTERIOR SEGMENT OF RIGHT UPPER LOBE
Patient one quarter turn from prone with right side up, supported by pillows with head of the bed flat
D ) POSTERIOR SEGMENT OF LEFT UPPER LOBE
Similar as above except this time left side up
E ) SUPERIOR SEGMENTS OF BOTH LOWER LOBES
prone on flat bed with pillows under abdominal area

HOW WILL U ASSESS D DISABILITY OF AMPUTATION IN BRIEF ?
A - 1 ) In case of multiple amputees , if the total sum of percentage permanent physical impairment is above 100 % it should be taken as 100 %
2 ) amputation at any level with uncorrectable inability to wear and use prosthesis , should be given 100 % permanent physical impairment ( vv imp )
3 ) in case of amputation in more than 1 limb , % of each limb is counted and another 10 % will be added , but when only toes or fingers are involved only another 5 % will be added
4 ) any complication in form of stiffness , neuroma , infection etc has to be given a total of 10 % additional weightage
5 ) dominant upper limb is to be given 4 % extra percentage
