  • this topic is given in first aid 2015 on page no. 308 and first aid 2016 page no. 302.

  • add one point , any drug that prolongs QT interval can result in torsades de pointes. amiodarone is the only drug that prolongs QT interval but rarely results in torsades de pointes because it has very even effect on all cardiomyocytes of ventricles.

  • we have not discussed class 2 and class 4 antiarrhythmic drugs but if you have any doubt then please mention it in the comment box.

  • if you are first or second year medical student or if you have more than one year to prepare for usmle step 1 or any other exam then i strongly recommend you to watch dr. najeeb lectures to make your concepts very clear. If you don’t have enough time to prepare for usmle step 1 then i would not recommend you to go through every video of dr. najeeb . just watch neurology and immunology.
