Know About NEET PG Eligibility

All over the country, for all medical and dental courses including MS, MD and MBBS including state of Jammu & Kashmir, NEET became mandatory exam for all those medical aspirants appearing for NEET 2017 entrance to be held between 5th December and 13th December 2016. The problem for the candidates from Kashmir seems to have just begun because no test centers has been allotted in Kashmir by BOPEE and the nearest exam center is Jammu for all those candidates.

The NEET PG exam is conducted by National board of examinations (NBE).
The seat reservation under All India Quota (pool) owned by institutions of central or state government is 50 percent for post graduation courses.
Jammu and Kashmir will not contribute to seats reservation of 50 percent pool and its medical graduates cannot participate in the All India quota because the state also has a special status of seat reservation. However, the state comes under the scheme of NEET PG 2017.

In this session 2016-17, the exam will be computer based i.e, online exam for MBBS, MD, MS. The BOPEE has been allotted Kawa Institute of Management and Technology as a test center for examination in Jammu.

In previous years, the candidates remarked against the distracted environment in Kashmir on test centers due to some political reason and unrest between the citizens. After a discussion between the government and supreme court, Government had communicated to national board of education (NBE) about the availability of infrastructure and facilities in further institutes for conducting the entrance test in Srinagar that had been considered for the safety purpose but NBE did not warm up the idea. The NBE further said that online exams have been conducted in past too in various technology parks in Kashmir. As a result, the action plan given by the NBE was not approved by state government to conduct examination in technology parks of Kashmir. Relevantly, this year, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), MBBS entrance test was also conducted in Srinagar at two test centers.
