DNB CET SS 2018 – Admit Card, Result, Counselling

DNB CET SS 2018 registration is over. Admit card of DNB CET SS 2018 will be issued now after allotment of exam centre. NBE will conduct Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test – Super Specialty on December 21, 2017. It is a computer based exam, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The candidates aspiring to study Superspecialty in Medical, Surgical, Pediatric and other fields must appear in this exam. National Board of Examination is organizing the DNB CET SS at the national level, to fill 897 SS seats in the country. The eligible candidates who have applied in the correct manner for DNB CET SS Jan 2018 will get admit card approximately 4-5 days before the exam. The final admission will be on the basis of merit of DNB SS 2018. DNB CET SS 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The required eligibility is as below:

Candidates who are in possession of postgraduate medical degrees/ Provisional Pass Certificates by 31 December 2017 in eligible specialties and their medical qualifications are recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 or DNB qualifications may apply for DNB-CETSS through online application. Candidates should have completed his/her 3 years (36 Months) of MD/ MS training by December 31, 2017.
The applicant must also have the permanent registration certificate of MBBS qualification. Any additional medical qualification must also be registered with MCI.
It is very important to ensure that the candidates is registered with M.C.I / State Medical Council. The necessary proof for registration will be required during counselling.

Only for Medical Genetics Course – Only those candidates can apply for Medical Genetics who did DNB / MD / MS in General Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynecology. The candidates with DNB / MS in General Surgery are not eligible for this Superspeciality.

Only for Holders of DNB/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology – The candidates withholding qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will have to appear for NBE FET.

Note: If the result of the qualifying examination is releasing after December 31, 2017, then NBE will not accept your application request.
DNB CET SS 2018 Application Form

The application form for the examination was issued on November 6, 2017. The candidates could only access it online until November 27, 2017. In order to submit the form, it was first needed to register. You entered following information during registration:

After the registration, the candidates got Candidate ID and Password. You can at any time login by submitting the ID and Password. After login is open enter Education Details, Pay Fee, Choose Exam City, and Upload Images.

Application Fee – Candidates needed to pay Rs. 4500 as application fee of DNB Superspeciality 2018. The candidates pay the fee online. They may make the payment via Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

DNB CET SS Admit Card 2018

The admit card of DNB Superspeciality entrance exam will state the details about the candidate, exam, and the center allocated by the Board. NBE will send the admit card at the candidate’s registered e-mail id, approximately 4 days before the examination. You will receive intimation regarding the issuance of the admit card will through SMS and public notice. The candidates need to download the admit card and affix a passport size photograph on it. The photograph must be identical to the one uploaded in the application form.

At the exam hall, along with the admit card, the candidates will also have to carry:

One Photo ID Proof – PAN Card / Driving Licence / Passport / Voter ID / Aadhaar Card
Photocopy of Permanent or Provisional SMC / MCI registration

Schedule of the Examination: The candidates must check the schedule of examination and abide by it.

DNB CET SS 2018 Exam Pattern

NBE will prepare one question paper each for Super Specialties in Medical, Surgical, Pediatric, and Super Specialties for MD/DNB Anesthesiology. The detailed exam pattern of DNB CET SS 2018 is as mentioned below:

Mode of the Exam: DNB CET SS 2018 for January session will be a Computer Based Examination.

Exam Duration: Candidates will get 3 hours to attempt the question paper.

Number of Questions: In all, there will be 180 questions in the exam.

Type of Questions: All the questions in the exam will be of multiple choice type.

Level of Exam: The level of the examination will be at par with Postgraduate exit examination.

Marks: Each question will carry 4 marks. Hence, in all the examination will be of 720 marks.

Negative Marking: For choosing incorrect answer option, 1 mark will be deducted.
Medical Genetics Aspirants and Holder of DNB/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Please Pay Attention

For Medical Genetics Aspirants- Those, who will opt for DNB Medical Genetics will have to attempt 30 extra questions. The Medical Genetics question paper will have two sections. The timing for both the sections will be separate. Section 1 will have 180 questions and will get 180 minutes to solve it. On the other hand, section 2 will consist of 30 questions and will get 30 minutes to solve it. The option to start the section 2 will only appear when section 1 will end.

For Holders of DNB/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology – As we have stated above, the Obstetrics and Gynaecology degree holders will have to appear for NBE FET. In FET, the candidates will have to solve 100 questions on Obstetrics and Gynaecology discipline and 30 questions of Medical Genetics.
DNB CET SS 2018 Syllabus

NBE has clearly mentioned in the information brochure that the syllabus of the examination will be as per the curriculum of concerned specialty.
DNB CET Superspeciality 2018 Result

The Board will announce the result of DNB CET SS 2018 as merit list. The merit list for Medical Genetics and Holder of DNB/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology shall be separate.

For Medical, Surgical & Pediatric Group the merit will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in 180 MCQs.

For Medical Genetics Group the merit will be determined on the basis of marks secured in 210 MCQs.

The merit list for Holder of DNB/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology will be determined by:

Firstly, the marks secured in 100 Questions of NBE FET will be normalizing with that of 180 MCQ questions.
Then NBE will add the normalized score and marks secured in 30 questions of FET.
Next, the Board will determine the merit as per the marks secured in 210 above added 210 questions.

DNB CET SS Counselling for January Session 2018

The counselling of DNB CET Superspeciality will be on the merit-cum-choice basis. There shall be three rounds of counselling and in each, there will be seat allocation on the basis of merit and preference. NBE will announce the schedule of counselling after the declaration of result. The qualified candidates will have to remit Rs. 2500 as counselling fee. NBE will conduct Group specific merit based counselling.
