Aadhaar card mandatory for NEET PG 2018; Negative marking for wrong answers

National Board of Education (NBE) has released the notification for NEET PG 2018 regarding the test pattern and requirement of Aadhaar card for admission process. For NEET PG 2018, applicants are required to provide their Aadhaar card number in the application form for verification of their identity. Aspirants who have not yet applied for Aadhaar card must apply for the same and provide their 14 digit enrollment ID in the application form. This measure was taken to improve the security of examinations. However, those candidates belonging from Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya do not have an Aadhaar card can enter their Passport/PAN/Driving Licence/Voter ID number in the NEET PG application form. The entrance test will be held in a computer-based mode for admission to the MD/MS and PG diploma programmes of more than 150 medical and dental colleges. The NEET PG application process started from October while the test was held on January 7, 2018 in a single day session. NEET PG result was announced on January 24, 2018.

This year, NBE introduced a negative marking scheme for NEET PG 2018. As per the notice, for every correct attempt, 4 marks will be awarded while 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. For the unattempted questions, zero marks will be added. Since the test will be held in a single session, there won’t be any equating or scaling of marks obtained by the test takers.
