ORDER
In the Government Order read above, it has been ordered that the students who
successfully complete, the MBBS course from the Government Medical Colleges in the
State, after obtaining registration from the State Medical Council, will be appointed in
rural areas against the vacant posts of Assistant Surgeons for a period of one year or till a
PSC hand joins duty, whichever is earlier.
2. The following further orders issued in this regard: -
(i) The Director of Health Services shall issue posting to all those who have
completed House Surgency during the year 2004, other than those who were
admitted under All India quota.
(ii) The Director of Health Services shall relieve those from duty on production of
admission cards for Post Graduate courses. Before they are relieved, they shall
execute a bond to serve in a rural area, after completion of the course.
(iii) The Director of Health Services shall inform the Registrar of the Travancore-
Cochin Medical Council the names of those, if any, who fail to join duty and
complete minimum 80% of effective service in an year.
(iv) The Registrar, Travancore-Cochin Medical Council shall take disciplinary
action as per Regulation 8.2 under Chapter 8 of the Indian Medical Council
(Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulation 2002, in the case of
such candidates for professional misconduct.
(v) The compulsory rural posting, ordered in GO dated 26.08.04, will not be
applicable to those candidates who had secured admission in Government
Medical Colleges before 1998, but who have successfully completed the
course during the year 2004, or after.
